DART made several changes to its service on Oct. 13, 2019. All changes for this major service change were cost-neutral. Because of this, DART had to eliminate, or shift, resources from underutilized services to better serve riders in other areas.
Express Route 99 – Altoona
Express Route 99 was on detour for several months before the service change, due to construction on Hubbell Avenue. During this detour, DART heard from several riders of the route that they prefer the route continue to utilize more of I-235 on a permanent basis. DART made this change to the route on Oct. 13, 2019. DART staff also changed schedules for Express Route 99 to clarify which trips are head towards downtown, and which trips head towards Altoona. As part of this service change, DART updated schedules to its other Express Routes to identify inefficient trips. This analysis was not part of the rebuilt schedules for Express Route 99.
