The region’s master plan for public transit, DART Forward 2035, is ready for its first update, and everyone from the Greater Des Moines area is invited to help. Adopted in 2011, the long-range plan is being updated at this five-year mark to ensure it meets the needs of the community’s growing and changing population.

Beginning Sunday, February 21, 2016, the following changes will be made to better serve DART riders. Click above for full details.

DART donated three of its retired RideShare vans to area nonprofits. ArtForceIowa, Central Iowa Shelter & Services and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants were recipients of either a minivan or 15-passenger van.

DART will operate on modified schedules in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. Please plan trips accordingly.

RideShare is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month by offering 20 percent off the first full month’s fare to any new riders who join a vanpool in October 2015.

Effective Sunday, November 15, 2015, the Merle Hay Mall Bus Stop 2037 will be relocated to Haymarket Mall and become Merle Hay/Haymarket Mall Bus Stop 117.

More people than ever took advantage of public transit to get to the Iowa State Fair in 2015. DART set record ridership to the Fair this year with 241,912 rides, a 9 percent increase over 2014.
