Seventh art bus featuring designs by Drake University Associate Professor Benjamin Gardner to be unveiled Dec. 11

DART and the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation are partnering with Drake University to unveil their latest installment of the art bus series. This unveiling event has been rescheduled to Monday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Olmsted Center on Drake University's Campus. The event was initially scheduled to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, but was rescheduled because of the memorial service for longtime Drake icon, Paul Morrison.

Twice a year, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation chooses a design and an artist’s work is used to wrap a DART bus. The latest bus is the seventh in the series, and will feature artwork by Benjamin Gardner, associate professor and department chair of art and design at Drake University.

Representatives of DART, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Drake University and Mr. Gardner will be speaking at a short ceremony on the Pomerantz Stage in the Olmsted Center at Drake University. Following the remarks, attendees will be welcomed to view the unveiling of the bus in the parking lot adjacent to the Olmsted Center.
