Posted on October, 19 2022

All DART Local, Express, On Demand, and On Call services are FREE on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 to help support our community to get out and vote. Polls in Polk County will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., but DART is free to ride all day.

Many riders who rely on DART services for everyday essentials also rely on us to vote on Election Days. To help ensure all Polk County Residents can make their voices heard, DART offers free service on Election Day and free trips to and from polling locations for Paratransit riders.

Plan your trip

Riders can turn to their Iowa Secretary of State’s office to confirm where their polling location is. Click here and type in your address to find your designated polling location.

Once you know where to vote, use the MyDART Trip Planner on this site (Click here) or through the MyDART app to find your route to the voting booths. You can also use the Transit option through Google Maps.

Paratransit Voters

Free rides will also be provided to Paratransit customers traveling to and from their polling location. You must schedule your ride to the polls at least 24 hours in advance.

We will do our best to serve as many people as possible to their designated polling location on Election Day, but Paratransit service may be limited by high demand and operates on a first come, first serve basis. To ensure DART can help you get out your vote you should contact us as soon as possible. Call 515-283-8136 to schedule your Paratransit trip to vote.
