DART On Demand has been operating in Ankeny since November 2021, offering on-demand, point-to-point trips on small DART buses for riders within a designated transportation zone in the city. As part of the introductory period of this service, DART offered trips at a cost of $1 per ride ($0.50 for riders who qualify for half fare and children ages 6-10). DART is now exploring options to expand DART On Demand into other communities of the region, as soon as this fall, and is looking to set a standard price for all these services. Because of this, DART is proposing to end the promotional rate for DART On Demand Ankeny in September 2022, replacing it with a new fare of $1.75 per ride ($0.75 for half fare and children).
