Informational Meetings Scheduled for Realignment of Routes 5 & 51
The realignment of Routes 5 Franklin Ave and 51 Merle Hay Crosstown to the new Route 5 will take effect with the August service change on Sunday, August 23, 2015.
The public is invited to attend informational meetings about the realignment and the NEW route 5:

The new Route 5 connects DART Central Station to Merle Hay Mall. Rider benefits of the realignment include improved connection points, increased service hours and more accessibility in neighborhoods with transportation needs.
The realignment is part of ongoing efforts to improve public transit throughout the Greater Des Moines region. Public meetings were held in April 2015 for the public to review and provide feedback on the proposed realignment of the two routes.
