The countdown is on – DART will begin running all new bus routes on June 14, 2026. We’re replacing our current routes with ten main bus routes that run more often, 7 days a week, on the busiest streets of the Des Moines metro.
What you can expect:
-
Less time waiting for a bus
-
Better weekend service
-
Faster connections
We’re also making changes to:
-
Hours services run
-
Bus stop signs and locations
-
DART On Demand – New zones begin in September!
See the map of the new network and explore the changes coming here. Schedules for each new route will be available by May 1.
We'll Help You Get Ready
We know this is a big change. We’re committed to helping you learn the new bus routes and plan your trips before June 14.
Join an upcoming open house to speak with a DART staff member and get help learning where to go and when you can catch the bus. We will have snacks and printed materials for you to take home.
There’s no formal presentation, so you can stop by any time during the event!
DART On Demand Riders: Watch for opportunities in early September to meet with DART staff to learn about this service.
