The lobby at DART Central Station will be re-opening for riders to use to sit inside and wait for their bus to arrive. Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, riders will be able to use the south entrances (near the bus platforms) to enter the DART Central Station lobby to:
- wait for their bus to arrive,
- speak to DART Customer Service,
- or use the restroom.
Lobby restrictions and requirements
Because central Iowa continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, riders will notice that seats inside the lobby will be partially blocked to promote social distancing. You must always wear a mask when in the lobby. Riders can get a mask on the bus, or request one from a security officer at DART Central Station.
We will not permit loitering inside the lobby, and DART security may ask riders who have been inside for extended periods of time which bus they need to help them keep moving.
Commitment to Service and Safety
All the changes DART has made to how it provides service throughout this year have helped to ensure that our employees and riders travel in the safest manner possible. We will continue additional preventative steps, including:
- providing masks on buses
- Promoting social distancing by blocking off bus seats
- Regular cleaning and sanitization of buses and DART buildings, including DART Central Station
We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to provide service for central Iowans. Riders with questions or comments about this change, or any of DART’s services or procedures should contact DART Customer service by stopping by the window at DART Central Station, by calling 515-283-8100, or by email.
