Changes to Route 10 & 52, New Route 2 Began Feb. 18

DART made the following service changes on Sunday, Feb. 18: 

  • Updated the route map and schedule for Local Route 10 – East University 
  • Made minor changes to the schedule for Local Route 52 – Jordan Creek 
  • Added a new route southeast of downtown Des Moines, Local Route 2 – Maury St, through a partnership with Kemin Industries. 

Local Route 2 – Maury St 

This new route covers an area southeast of downtown Des Moines. Two roundtrips are made daily from DART Central Station — one trip from 5:31 to 6:40 a.m. and one trip from 5:30 to 6:41 p.m. Local Route 2 – Maury St is made possible thanks to a partnership with Kemin Industries.  

Local Route 2 – Maury St connects to Local Routes 1 and 10 along E University Ave. at E 30th St., and to all other Local Routes at DART Central Station. Click the map image below to expand: 

 

New Route 2 Map for February 2024

This new route costs the standard fare of $1.75 per ride, or $0.75 per ride for riders who qualify for Half Fare or Ride to Thrive

Local Route 10 – East University 

The Walnut St. bridge in downtown Des Moines has closed for construction. The bridge was previously used weekdays by Local Route 10 – East University in both inbound and outbound directions.  

The portion of the route that previously traveled on Walnut St. in downtown Des Moines has now been moved to Grand Ave. Click the map image below to expand:

Two Local Route 10 connections have slightly changed: 

  • Local Routes 1 and 4 now connect to Local Route 10 along Grand Ave. from Pennsylvania Ave. to 7th St., 
  • Local Route 1 still connects to Local Route 10 along E University Ave. from E 30th St. to E 33rd St., and 
  • Local Route 17 still connects to Local Route 10 along E University Ave. from Pennsylvania Ave. to Easton Blvd.

Local Route 52 – Jordan Creek 

DART also made minor changes to stop times on Local Route 52 – Jordan Creek going in both directions. Schedules have been updated to better reflect the travel time along the route and improve buses running on time. DART will continue to monitor the route and may propose more changes to improve reliability. Click here to view the updated schedule for Local Route 52.
