DART is partnering with participating public libraries to celebrate Library Card Sign up Week! Use your library card to ride FREE on DART’s Local and Express routes and On Call services September 17-23.
Just show your library card when you board any DART bus. Then settle in with a good book or enjoy DART's free WiFi to listen to an eAudiobook or read an eBook. Check out DART’s curated reading list!

Fair-goers can park their car and ride DART for a convenient, air-conditioned trip to the Iowa State Fair August 10-20, 2023.
Three Park & Ride locations are available, with free parking, from 8:30 a.m. to midnight each day of the fair. All buses will drop off and pick up at Gate 10 at the Fairgrounds.
DART has expanded transit options in several communities this June with the addition of two new DART On Demand zones, one in north Des Moines and one in West Des Moines, route map changes for Local Route 52 adding service onto University Avenue, as well as removing service along 60th and University Avenue on Local Route 72. These and other minor schedule changes went into effect as part of DART’s June service change which began on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
In celebration of National Bike Month, from May 1 – 31, 2024 you can ride any Local, Express, On Call and DART On Demand services free if your bring a bike on your trip.
All DART buses are equipped with a bike rack, so hop on any route or service and we’ll get you and your bike to the next leg of your trip.

DART staff will potentially be holding two public meetings to get solicit feeback on requests for grant funding. Members of the public may attend or request more information, learn about current proposals being sent to federal and state programs, and make statements in support or against the plans to request and use the grant program's funding.
The end of January marks a major milestone for Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART). After 14 years of service, including 11 years as CEO, Elizabeth Presutti is leaving DART to join her husband who recently accepted a position at Collins Aerospace at their manufacturing facility in Monroe, North Carolina just outside of Charlotte.
