No DART service on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day

Public/private collaboration results in transit funding recommendations

The Transit Future Work Group, in collaboration with DART, released the comprehensive Greater Des Moines Transit Funding Study to provide a long-term investment strategy for the region’s public transportation system. The Transit Future Work Group is managed by the Greater Des Moines Partnership and made up of business and community leaders.

No DART service on Thanksgiving Day

There will be no DART bus service on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

How to get to 80/35 in downtown Des Moines

DART is extending Route 60 to run every 20 minutes until midnight on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8 to take you to and from the 80/35 Music Festival.

Local Route 10 - East University

Service operates between DART Central Station, the Broadlawns Clinic on East University and Pleasant Hill.

Connections: Local Route 1 and Local Route 4 at East 14th and East 15th Streets. Local Route 17 at University and Hubbell Avenues. All Express Routes and the D-Line Shuttle on Grand Avenue and Locust Street in downtown Des Moines. All Local and Crosstown Routes at DART Central Station.

Service Change Scheduled for Aug. 21

To better serve customers, DART is making changes to Local Routes 1, 3, 4, 14, 52 and Flex Routes 72 and 74 effective Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Public art takes to the streets on public transit

Public art is taking to the streets of Greater Des Moines in a new initiative that wraps artists’ one-of-a-kind designs on public transit buses. The Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation Project Spaces initiative, in partnership with the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART), will unveil the new public art initiative at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, at The Hub Spot Plaza on The Principal Riverwalk at Court Avenue and Water Street.
