Fixed-Route Drivers Job Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
Possess a valid Iowa Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class B CDL and an excellent driving record for the previous 5 years
Ability to understand fare structure and schedules
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Pass a pre-employment, DOT-certified physical exam including a drug and alcohol screen

Fixed-Route Wages

After training, part-time drivers make between $13.28-$14.81 per hour
Full-time drivers earn $18.89 an hour at top rate

Paratransit Drivers Minimum Job Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
Possess a valid Iowa Driver's License and an excellent driving record for the previous 5 years
Ability to understand fare structure and schedules and have a good knowledge of Des Moines area streets.
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Pass a pre-employment, DOT-certified physical exam including a drug and alcohol screen

Paratransit Wages

After training, part-time drivers make between $12.80 - $14.57 per hour
Full-time drivers earn $14.90 per hour at top rate
